The Steam page of AUDIOSPEED is live, and the demo is available to download right there: store.steampowered.com/app/3669730/Audiospeed
Back in August we told you the store page was in review. It is out now, and the demo is on it — so you can try the game on Steam, on itch.io, or both.
Where to get the demo
Both demos are the same build: Windows, 63 MB, seven starships to choose from and the first tracks of the tournament to practise on.
A reminder of what it is
AUDIOSPEED is a high-speed racing audiogame built to be played by ear. Your ship never turns: it stays parallel to the track axis and slides sideways, a deliberate accessibility choice, because without sight a strafing model is far easier to read than a yaw angle. What gets you is centrifugal force — the faster you enter a bend, the harder the track pushes you into the outer wall. The robo-navigator tells you when to slow down; the rest is up to your ears.
The main tournament runs across 7 tracks and ends at Hydra, where only the toughest pilots get through. There is also a Video vs Audio mode: you race by ear, a sighted friend races by sight, same track, same moment.
Accessibility
- Fully playable by blind players — the 3D graphics are illustrative only
- Full voice over in 11 languages: English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian and Hindi — interface and subtitles in all of them
- Every menu entry is spoken: no screen reader needed
- Everything the game says is also written on screen as a subtitle
- Adjustable text size and a high contrast mode
- Keyboard only, and full controller support
- Stereo positioning for orientation, separate volume controls
Headphones are strongly recommended.
What comes next
AUDIOSPEED launches in Early Access on 4 November 2026, on Steam. Wishlist it if you want to know the moment it goes live, and let us know what you think of the demo: feedback from these weeks is exactly what we need before release.
